The Bloodsinger Novels / Celia Graves
Writing as Cat Adams
Blood Song
Bodyguard Celia Graves plies her trade in a world where vampires roam the night and movie stars openly practice witchcraft, where cops use memory enhancement spells on witnesses and street-corner psychics have real powers. An ordinary human, Celia uses her street smarts – and charmed weapons—to protect the rich and famous.
Celia is guarding the prince of a small but politically vital nation while he tours Los Angeles’s less savory hot spots when she is attacked by a master vampire.
Expecting to die, Celia is shocked to wake strapped to a table in a university lab. She has become an Abomination, neither fully mortal or fully vampire.
Struggling to cope with her new powers and trying not to terrify everyone she meets with a flash of fang, Celia reaches out for help from the few people she can trust.
Celia Graves has three days to save the world, her sanity, and her soul.
Siren Song
Celia Graves is back. The vampire attack that made her an Abomination forces her to take food in liquid form and gives a whole new meaning to the word “sunburn.” She is slowly adjusting (with therapy) when she discovers that the attack awakened a dormant part of her heritage. Celia is part Siren, able to enthrall men—and enrage women.
Her best friend’s murder remains unsolved. The cops think Celia should be in jail or staked.
Now Celia has been summoned to the Siren’s island for a duel to the death.
Celia Graves has more than one enemy. Some of them want her blood. Some of them want her soul. All of them want her dead.
Demon Song
Celia Graves always thought she was an ordinary human. But that was never true. Her once-dormant Siren heritage has been awakened by the vicious vampire attack that turned her into an “Abomination.” She’s not dead, or undead but she has to take her food in liquid form, and now has a severe “allergy” to sunlight.
A rift is opening between the demonic dimension and our own, threating to set hell’s denizens free (including the demon personally bent on destroying Celia). Her recent troubles may have given Celia the unique combination of abilities needed to close the rift. But she will have to overcome a death curse that practically guarantees her failure. And she’ll need to join forces with people she no longer trusts . . . and put people she care’s about in harm’s way.
The Isis Collar
A clairvoyant’s vision sends Celia racing to evacuate a local elementary school before a concealed magical bomb goes off. She gets almost everyone out, but is caught in the explosion.
Amazingly, the bomb seems to have caused no damage. But two weeks later a stubborn bruise on Celia’s leg turns out to be the first symptom of a magical zombie plague. School children and their parents are the next victims. There is a cure—but it is both painful and in extremely short supply.
When it becomes clear that there are more explosions to come Celia must help the FBI track down the bomber while dealing with her alcoholic mother’s escape from prison, and the disappearance of one of her boyfriends in the middle of a dangerous casting.
The Eldritch Conspiracy
You are invited to . . . a Royal Wedding
The King of Rusland is marrying a Siren princess . . . but there are many who think Princess Adriana has bewitched the King using dark magics. After the second attempt on Adriana’s life, she asks her cousin Celia for help.
Celia Graves provides personal security to the rich and famous—and the poor and unknown. She’s gotten government informants out of the hands of terrorists and banished demons to another dimension. She’s not really human anymore. So she’s the perfect choice to protect Adriana from both explosions and curses . . . if she’s not too distracted by family drama, or by her boyfriend’s gorgeous ex who’s made it clear she’s willing to do anything to get him back.
To Dance with the Devil
Business has been good. Celia Graves can even afford to turn down the occasional client. But that doesn’t keep her from being kidnapped by a powerful mage out for revenge. Stripped and left to burn on a beach, Celia discovers that her inner vampire has just been biding its time.
Trapped in the middle of a generations-old feud between two powerful clans of magic wielders Celia will have to call in more than one favor—and risk the lives of her closest friends to save a young woman, and most of Southern California, from a terrible fate.
All Your Wishes
Graves Personal Protection is booming. Business is expanding. Life would be good if Celia could just get her inner bat back under control. It’s a constant battle not to ‘vamp out’ and drain someone’s blood.
She could use some downtime. Unfortunately, their latest client, Rahim Patel insists that Celia personally be the one to protect him as he tries to literally put an evil genie back in his bottle.
When the first attempt fails, Celia is targeted by the ifrit. He gives her an ultimatum. If she doesn’t give him her body, he’ll kill everyone she loves. But she knows that if she does, he’ll use her physical form for his evil purposes. Trapped in a no-win situation, Celia fights to come up with a third alternative.
Unfortunately the next thing she knows, Rahim Patel’s in the hospital, she’s under arrest, and the ifrit is wreaking havoc on an international scale because she pissed him off.
Celia needs to get that ifrit rebottled before all hell breaks loose—literally.
